Sister Beatrice Freeman was born to the Late Felix Freeman and Paralee Davis-Freeman on October 29, 1939 in Rayville, Louisiana.
She departed her life on October 13, 2025 at Richardson Medical Center in Rayville, La. Sister Freeman was known to her family as Ma’am. Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, Felix Freeman and Paralee Davis-Freeman.
Beatrice’s legacy will be remembered mostly by the love she showed to her family and others. She enjoyed cooking, attending church, and communicating with family and friends. She instilled biblical principles in her children and was the matriarch of the family. She helped raise many of her grand and great grandchildren alone with nieces and nephews.
Beatrice attended Rhymes school in Alto, La. She spent most of her life in Rayville and in Start, La.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Rev D.D. Dorsey. She was a faithful member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church where she served as an Usher, Treasurer, and Secretary for many decades. Before her health began to fail she served as Treasurer under the leadership of her current Pastor, Rev. Eddie Chatmon Sr.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: one daughter, Sharon Freeman Staten of Houston, TX. Four sons: Willie James Freeman (Linda) of Milwaukee, WI, Charles Earl Freeman and Bobby Freeman both of Start, La, and Marvin Freeman of Chicago, IL; one sister, Vivian Freeman of Fresno, TX; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two great, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Beatrice was like a second mother to Diane, Clarence, Denita, and Ricco Freeman.
